It received its CNRA (airworthiness certificate) on October 5, 1988, in a fixed-gear configuration, powered by a 180 hp Lycoming O-360 — a classic MJ-5 K1 setup. By the end of 1995, the aircraft changed hands, joining Fadair, a company based first in Coulommiers, then at the iconic Ferté Alais airfield. The Sirocco’s journey continued in September 1997, when Jean-Charles Luccina took ownership. Just a year later, it passed into the hands of Roderick Volrath, followed by Pascal Emin from Romilly, who became its caretaker in April 2000. Since October 2002, the aircraft has been based in Valence, proudly owned by Jean-Louis Genty — himself a co-founder of the Jurca Air Force and the builder of Tempête #54. This Sirocco even made a memorable appearance at Salon Eyguières in May 2012, caught on film battling strong crosswinds during takeoff — a performance set to the unmistakable soundtrack of the Azores high pressure system clashing with the Genoa low. Pure aviation poetry.
